Summary

The Macarte macOS app has been designed to not collect or transmit any data about you, your usage of the app, or your computer.

Macarte does not make use of any custom or third-party analytics or user-monitoring/tracking software.

In short, nothing you do on your computer, with Macarte or otherwise, leaves your computer due to actions taken by Macarte. It does not track you, nor connect to the Internet.

Please note: Macarte does not prevent other software from doing any monitoring or analytics, it merely does not do any itself, or contain third-parties modules which do so.

Detail

The Macarte macOS app DOES NOT collect:

• Details about your computer hardware
• Details about your computer software
• Details about your operating system
• Details about other apps on your system, neither running nor merely installed
• Details about how you use the app
• Details about how you use your computer

The Macarte macOS app DOES NOT contain or feature:

• Analytics software, home-grown/custom
• Any Analytics SDKs (Software Development Kits)
• Crash Reporting SDKs
• Third-Party SDKs

A word on macOS Crash Reporter

Please note that whilst Macarte doesn't perform any monitoring, analytic or crash-reporting itself, you may, depending on your macOS settings, be presented with macOS' own built-in Crash Reporter should Macarte crash.

This is not part of Macarte, and part of your own macOS installation and configuration.

Should the macOS Crash Reporter appear, you can choose whether or not to report the crash to Apple.

Should you choose to report the crash to Apple, then this may then be relayed to us as per the information macOS Crash Reporter will relay to you before you submit, and inline with Apple's own terms on this.

This is out of our control, and is entirely between you, your own macOS installation and Apple.

It should be noted that typically crash reports contain only some minimal data on the internal state of the crashed app itself, and so should not particularly affect your privacy, but as you are in total control of whether they are sent or not, please choose appropriately should Macarte crash and the macOS Crash Reporter prompts you to optionally send a Crash Report to Apple (and typically onto us via Apple).

Again, for clarity, this is only for crashes of Macarte, and would only about a Macarte crash - the Crash Reporter may appear for any app or software component on your system which crashes, not just Macarte, but the relevant developer (Apple or third-party Developer) is informed, provided Apple can contact the third-party Developer (for Apps in the Mac App Store, this should be assumed to be the case).
